Bottomless Closet
The Bottomless Closet is a wonderful organization that has been helping women in New York City enter the workforce for over 20 years. They’re most famous for providing interview attire to women in need who are seeking employment. They also help with resume writing and interview prep. Additionally, they provide a variety of workshops on various topics including financial literacy, professional development, and personal enrichment. All these services are provided to the women free of charge.
I’ve been referring clients from the non-profits I work with for the past four years. All the women I’ve referred have had positive experiences with the Bottomless Closet. One client even said she felt she was treated like royalty! Not only do women get clothes for their job searches, but they also get shoes, handbags, and other accessories.
They recently moved their offices to 34th Street, right across the street from the Empire State Building. Last Thursday, December 1st, they held an open house for referral and corporate partners, and I was invited. I was so impressed with their new space. It’s gorgeous!
Women must be referred by one of the many referral partners. Employment training and job readiness programs can apply to become referral partners. More info on how to become a referral partner can be found here.
