Update, Spilled Hermès, and Wide Width Shoes
July was a lazy month and here we are in August. Finally. To be honest I never enjoyed the summer heat and humidity. I can’t wait for the fall weather.
I went to Macy’s today hoping to find some fall outfits but left empty handed. I was disappointed that they still have their summer styles out. By the way, is it me, or have stores been carrying the same three Calvin Klein dress styles for the past 10 years? I’m pretty sure I bought that light blue fit and flare dress (below) in black at Burlington years ago. I took it back because the illusion hem revealed a bit more than I wanted it to. Always try on clothes at the store, ladies!
I also stopped at Bloomingdales to get some violet mascara from Shiseido. I’ve been into color mascara and eyeliners lately. Anyway, I stopped by the Hermès counter to take a look at their lipsticks and nail polish. Guess who dropped and broke a bottle of nail polish? I was mortified! It was just a tester, and the sales associate was more than gracious about the whole thing, but I’m not sure I can show my face around there again anytime soon! By the way, the nail color was 46 Rouge Casaque. The sales associate gave me some lip color samples before the nail polish fiasco, and I can’t wait to try them out.
Wide Width Shoes
Shoes! I’ve been wearing the same two pairs of sandals and flats this entire summer and decided it was time for something new. I went online and I got a pair of Naturalizer Vera sandals in black and a pair of black Rockport Total Motion heels. I have wide feet and was happy to see both these brands have wide width shoes. I’ve had wide feet forever, but I don’t remember when I discovered that wide width shoes were a thing. I suspect a lot of women aren’t aware that wide width shoes exist, judging by the number of ladies I see on the subway with their feet spilling out of their shoes. Yikes! Doesn’t that hurt?! It’s frustrating that many shoe manufacturers don’t offer shoes in wide width, though some do.
Women’s wide with shoes are marked with W or D following the shoe size, and extra wide width shoes are indicated with a WW or 2E. Regular or medium width are marked with a M or B. Narrow width shoes also exist, and those are marked with an N or 2A.
Here’s a list of brands offering stylish wide width shoes:
I’m sure there are more so I’ll add to the list as I continue researching brands.
